Course Description
Risk Management & Crisis Mitigation in Casinos is an 8-hour, immersive professional course focused on identifying, preventing, and managing operational, security, and reputational risks unique to casino and gaming environments.
Led by Tony Clark, Director of Surveillance, this course provides a real-world, practitioner-driven approach to anticipating threats, mitigating risk, and managing critical incidents before they escalate into crises or legal exposure. Participants will explore how surveillance, security, operations, and leadership teams can work together to reduce vulnerabilities across people, property, assets, and brand reputation.
Instruction covers a wide range of risk scenarios—including workplace violence, patron disputes, criminal activity, insider threats, fraud, technology failures, emergency events, and public-facing incidents—while emphasizing early detection, decision-making under pressure, escalation protocols, and coordinated response.
A significant focus is placed on crisis management frameworks, including command structure, interdepartmental coordination, communication strategies, and recovery planning. Participants will gain insight into how proactive risk management and disciplined response practices directly impact guest safety, employee confidence, operational continuity, and organizational resilience.
While designed specifically for casino operations, the principles taught are highly transferable to hospitality, entertainment, resort, and gaming-adjacent environments. The course is suitable for both operational leaders and executive decision-makers and supports continuing education requirements in risk management and security operations.
